Microsoft announces the 5-inch Lumia 540 Dual SIM with 8 MP camera
A new low-end Lumia has been launched
Microsoft has released another cheap Windows Phone – Lumia 540 Dual SIM. For the expected retail price of $150, the Lumia 540 offers some nice specs and some disappointing too.
For first time we have an HD display (720p) and an 8 MP rear camera on a Lumia from the 5xx series. For comparison, the Lumia 535 offers just 960 x 540 pixels on the same screen size (5 inches) and a 5 MP camera on the back. Microsoft Lumia 540 Dual SIM has also a good wide-angle front-facing camera (5 MP) which is the same as that found in the 535.
One of the areas where the Microsoft Lumia 540 falls short is the processing power. Again, Microsoft has used the old Snapdragon 200 CPU running at 1.2 GHz which doesn’t allow you to play resource consuming games.
The new model has about the same weight as the Lumia 535, but is a bit thicker (9.4 mm vs 8.8 mm), which may have something to do with the increased battery – 2200 mAh compared with just 1905 mAh for the Lumia 535.
The remaining specs are: 1 GB of RAM, 8 GB of storage, Adreno 302 GPU and Micro SD.
Lumia 540 will be available in glossy (cyan, white, orange) or matte (black) finish in Asia-Pacific, European, Middle East and African countries from early May.
