Microsoft has acquired Wunderlist – popular “to-do list” app
6Wunderkinder joins Microsoft
Microsoft has officially confirmed the acquisition of the German-based company 6Wunderkinder and its popular mobile application called Wunderlist. According to sources close to the Wall Street Journal, Microsoft has agreed to pay between $100 and $200 million to acquire 6Wunderkinder.
Wunderlist is the new addition to the Microsoft’s portfolio, following the purchase of Sunrise – a popular iOS app. These new apps and services will help Microsoft reinvent the productivity in a mobile-first, cloud-first world.
Redmond says that 6Wunderkinder will continue to operate as a separate entity in the foreseeable future, but there are plans for a deeper integration with the company’s own apps. The CEO of the German company comments that the deal “opens up new possibilities for the already very popular app”.
