Alcatel Idol 4S has appeared on the 16th place

United States is a major smartphone market, so it’s interesting to get a detailed picture of the Windows phone’s presence in the country. In the new AdDuplex report for November, we find that the Microsoft Lumia 640 is the most popular Windows phone with a share of 26.2% of all devices, and 20.2% of the Windows 10 Phones only.

The high-end Lumia 950 has almost the same share of the phones running Windows 10 – 19.3%, but only 3.8% of the active Windows Phones in the US. That means the number of the users who upgraded to Windows 10 is relatively small – around 15% according to the report, while the rest of the phones are either not eligible for the upgrade, or the users opt to stay on Windows Phone 8.1.

At the same time, more than 90% of those on Windows 10 Mobile are on the latest version 1607, which proves that Microsoft kept its promise to deliver faster updates with Windows 10.

Another interesting fact in the report is related to the Alcatel Idol 4s – a newly released phone for T-Mobile. For just one week in the market, the phone has managed to overtake the HP Elite x3 in terms of market share. With a more reasonable price and some extra features suitable for consumers, the Idol 4s could easily continue its rise in the US in the coming months.

AdDuplex also shows the top Windows 10 PC manufacturers in the US. HP is a market leader (32%), followed by Dell (25%) and Lenovo (8.9%). Microsoft, with its Surface line, accounts for 4.3% of the devices running Windows 10 in November.
