Lumia 630 for just £89.95 in the UK
Details of price and availability for the budget-oriented Lumia 630 in the UK have been revealed by Microsoft. The first Windows Phone 8.1-powered handset comes with a very attractive price tag aimed at taking on the Moto E. It looks that the 630 will be the new Windows Phone bestseller as its price in the UK is just £89.95 off-contract, at several carriers and retailers including O2, EE, Tesco, Amazon and Carphone Warehouse.
For just under £90 (we assume on Pay As You Go) you will get a large 4.5-inch display, quad-core Snapdragon processor and 512 MB of RAM. Nokia Lumia 630 has 8GB of storage, microSD slot supporting up to 128GB and a 5MP camera on its rear, fueled by an 1830 mAh battery.
The Lumia 630 will face a strong competition in the low-end segment but Microsoft’s offering has its own advantages over the main rivals such as Moto E. Some of the key differentiating elements are Windows Phone 8.1 and the great Nokia apps all coming pre-loaded on the 630.
The new budget Lumia is now available for orders (or pre-sales) in a variety of markets – in many European courtiers, China, India, Brazil, Vietnam, Malaysia and others. More markets will follow in June/July as Microsoft announced there will be over 100 carriers to offer the smartphone.
