LG to release an affordable 4.7-inch Windows Phone?
LGVW820 has appeared in AdDuplex’s logs
LG is working on a Windows phone, according to the latest AdDuplex report. The phone codenamed LG-VW820 has a 4.7-inch display with a resolution of just 854 x 480 pixels, which is an indication for a low-end device.
LG, one of the first partners for the platform announced in 2010, will probably try a couple of new smartphones running Windows in 2015. A photo of an LG prototype called ‘Uni8’ running Windows leaked in the summer of 2014 but the Korean company later confirmed it won’t be releasing such a phone in 2014.
LGVW820 could be the same ‘Uni8’ that leaked 6 months ago or another new smartphone under development. With the Windows 10 release approaching, it won’t be a surprise if LG and other major OEM see a potential for growth and unveil new smartphones in the coming months.
