Nokia has recently started rolling out an app to its Lumia Windows Phones which enables the user to block particular phone numbers from calling and sending text messages. In the last update of the Extra + Info application, Nokia has added specific settings allowing the phone user to block specific numbers from sending SMS and calling.

It integrates a certain section in the phone where the user can do so by just tapping and holding on the desired number to add it to the block list. It is a very useful option for Lumia`s owners that is yet to materialize for the rest Windows Phone users. As there is no information that Microsoft is planning to build it yet, the hope is that the other OEMs will do it soon. The new option built by Nokia is thanks to the new APIs comprised in GDR2 update.

In addition, the app includes options to block withheld numbers and a Live Tile which counts how many times a phone number is blocked. As we understand, the option blocks a certain number fully from messaging and calling, which means unfortunately that you are not able to block only the messages and keep getting calls, for example.
