iTunes app for Windows 10 delayed until 2018
Apple won’t release the iTunes app this year
Unexpectedly announced at the BUILD conference in April, the iTunes app for Windows10 was expected to arrive in the Windows Store by the end of this year. Now, seven months later, ZDNet reports based on an emailed statement that the app has been delayed until 2018.
An Apple spokesperson comments:
“We have been working with Microsoft to deliver the full iTunes experience to our customers and we need a little more time to get it right,”
Apple is not specifying when exactly the iTunes app will arrive next year. This may be disappointing for users with Windows 10 S who were hoping to get access to the app from the Store. Users on the 10 S platform have no access to classic desktop apps (exe), and they are limited to the Microsoft Store.
While iTunes is not such a great music player, the app would be quite useful for everyone who want to sync content between Windows 10S PC and iPhone / iPad. Unfortunately, these consumers should wait until sometime in 2018.
