Instagram back in the game, New Update available for Windows phones
Two days after Instagram disappeared from the Microsoft Store for Windows 10 Mobile devices, the app is again available for download. There is a new update for Instagram, possibly fixing the incompatibility issues for Windows phones. If you search for ‘Instagram’ right now, you will see the app in the search results, although the listing only mentions ‘PC’ as supported devices.
Instagram has never publicly announced that the company is pulling support for Windows 10 Mobile anytime soon, so the new updates is a good sign for the remaining Lumia/Windows phone users. However, we should not expect any new features coming to current phones, as the mobile platform is no longer actively developed. Microsoft is expected to announce the first mobile-type device with Windows 10 on ARM later this year, known under the codename ‘Andromeda‘.
