Idol 4S includes Super-sensitive display and Double tap to wake
You will be able to use the 4S with gloves
Alcatel’s high-end Windows phone goes on sale next week, but we have already learned some interesting things about it in addition to bare specs. Along with a dedicated camera button that is traditionally found on high-end Lumia devices, Alcatel Idol 4S comes with a Glove Mode and Double Tap to wake up, both hidden in Settings → Extras.
Turning on the first option, Double tap to wake, would allow you to wake up the device by double tapping.
Glove mode is a feature that Nokia implemented in its first Windows Phones like the Lumia 920, allowing you to use the device with gloves. This feature is not available in the current Microsoft’s flagships – Lumia 950 & 950 XL.
With Microsoft abandoning the phone market in 2016, the Idol 4S appears to be the new Windows 10 flagship phone for consumers, while the Elite x3 remains a rather niche product more suitable for business users.
