HTC is holding a big press event in New York on August 19 where the Taiwanese company is expected to unveil its first Windows Phone 8.1 flagship dubbed HTC One (M8) for Windows. WPC has acquired the full specs of the upcoming smartphone and we can confirm it has the same hardware as the Android version.

HTC One M8 Windows Phone is built around a quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor running at 2.3 GHz with 2 GB of RAM. The phone’s storage is 32 GB, while a microSD slot allows you to add up to 128 GB more. Up front is a 5-inch Super LCD3 display with Full HD resolution and 441ppi pixel density. The phone works with Nano SIM, and is fueled by a 2600 mAh battery.

In short, HTC One (M8) for Windows uses the same hardware as the Android version which is a great move. Consumers and review sites will be able to make a direct comparison between Android and Windows Phone running on the same smartphone, while consumers can have a choice between two operating systems.

Future ‘HTC One for Windows‘ owners can use all exclusive Android features and apps like ‘U-Focus’. ‘U-Focus’ allows you to refocus a phone after it’s taken and this functionality is included in the default camera app. Nokia Refocus works in a similar way, but it is a standalone application so you need to launch it every time you want to refocus a photo.

HTC One M8 Windows Phone will come with Boomsound system which consists of two high-quality front-facing speakers with dedicated amplifiers. Other distinctive features you will find on this smartphone are the UltraPixel camera and Dot View case support.
