Only HTC 8X meets the hardware requirements for GDR1 Update

HTC has today announced that only HTC 8X meets the hardware criteria for GDR1 update while HTC 8S devices are stuck on WP8.1 which is now rolling out to Windows Phones around the globe.

HTC’s support forum explains:

HTC 8X devices will be tested for system stability so the update will be pushed out after some time. HTC 8S, because some hardware that doesn’t meet the criteria, will not be able to upgrade so we hope that customers using HTC 8S can understand the situation. More timely information will be provided on the official Micro-blog forum so please keep an eye and thank your continued support!

Yesterday Microsoft confirmed there are problems with HTC 8X and 8S smartphones on the Preview Program so users were not able to install the latest Update 1. HTC is reportedly working on GDR1 stability issues with update for HTC 8X so the update will be pushed out to Developers after some time.
