The Lap Dock accessory for the Elite x3 costs $599

Microsoft Store has listed the Lap Dock accessory for the HP Elite x3 for early pre-orders. The Laptop-like accessory has a price of $599, which is quite expensive considering the fact that the phone itself is $699.

The Lap Dock looks like a real laptop, but it doesn’t have its own processor, RAM or storage. It is a mobile extender for your phone, with a 12.5-inch Full HD screen, battery, speakers and many ports. It can connect using USB Type-C or wirelessly to an Elite x3 or other Continuum-capable smartphone. You can then work on the Lap Dock powered by your phone in Continuum-mode, having something like a lite version of Windows 10 with Universal apps.
