How to hide system app icons from the Windows 10’s Taskbar
Personalize your system tray in Windows 10
Having too many icons on the taskbar could be distracting, especially if you rely on the default settings and see system icons you don’t actually want to see. With Windows 10 you can easily disable those unwanted icons with a few clicks. Here is how you can hide the system app icons on a PC running Windows 10 Build 14393 or newer:
-
Go to Settings – Personalization → Taskbar. You can also right click on an empty desktop area and select “Settings’.
-
Scroll down to the end and find the System icons section.
-
You will see a list with all system app icons that can appear on the taskbar. Depending on your needs, turn on/off each system icon
-
All app icons you’ve disabled will instantly disappear from the task bar. No need to restart the PC.
Tip: You can disable many of the icons like Location, Windows Inc, Input Indicator and others to reduce the distracting elements in the taskbar and have only trays you actually need.
To unhide system apps on the system tray in the taskbar just follow the same procedure in Settings.
