Google to use the Windows 10 Action center for Chrome notifications
Google Chrome notifications coming soon to the Action Center
Even now, Google Chrome is able to show push notifications in Windows 10, although not in the built-in Windows 10 Action Center but in its own notification center. Now we understand that Google may be adding support for Windows 10’s native notification center, so Chrome may soon be able to send notifications from extensions and web apps just like UWP apps. We already reported that Microsoft will soon publish quality web apps in the Store, and they will also send notifications as native apps.
Google’s Windows test notifications were first noticed by a Reddit user (via Thurrott). A test Chrome build includes a new flag to enable notifications in the Action Center by default. Google may leave this option turned off by default and hidden in the chrome://flags menu, but there is a chance that Chrome will use Windows notifications by default.
