New report claims Acer won’t release the Anniversary Update to the Jade Primo

One of the very few hardware partners that announced Windows 10 smartphones may be abandoning its flagship device, leaving it without official Anniversary Update and upcoming feature updates. Acer launched the Liquid Jade Primo around the same time Microsoft unveiled the Lumia 950, and both phones have similar specs including a Snapdragon 808 processor with Continuum support.

While Microsoft and HP have already upgraded their phones to Windows 10 Mobile Anniversary Update, Acer remained quiet and all Liquid Jade Primo users had to join the Insider program in the Production ring to install feature updates. According to WindowsUnited.de, Acer will not release the Anniversary Update to the smartphone, because of ”instability of the OS”.

In the meantime, other devices like the Lumia 950 and the HP Elite x3 have been running official Anniversary Update for months without issues, and they are already anticipating the Creators Update with new features, including Continuum improvements.

Acer Liquid Jade Primo offers a 5.5-inch screen, 21MP camera, six-core Snapdragon processor and 3GB of RAM, and 32GB internal storage.
