The first ‘Nokia by Microsoft’ smartphone leaked with a 13MP camera

The first ‘Nokia by Microsoft’ smartphone leaked with a 13MP camera

We’ve recently talked about the new branding Microsoft intends to introduce by the end of this year. According to previous reports, Redmond reached an agreement with Nokia for future brand usage for new Windows Phone devices which will be called ‘Nokia by Microsoft’ instead of ‘Nokia’. Today we have more news to share. Windows Phone Area understands that the first Nokia by Microsoft device could be the handset we saw two days ago in pictures published on Weibo media in China.

A new leaked picture shows the same device that is believed to be the mid-range Nokia Lumia 830 spotted in China. The back of this new device is adorned with ‘Nokia by Microsoft’ so Nokia and Microsoft seems to have already signed the licensing agreement and this is the first phone with the new branding.

Nokia McLaren or Lumia 1030 high-end cameraphone

Information about the smartphone is scarce. What is known, however, is that the upcoming phone has a polycarbonate back, aluminum frame around the sides and a camera module similar to that found on the Nokia Lumia 1020 but with a smaller PureView sensor (13 MP). Based on the information leaked during the past week it’s reasonable to guess that this is a mid-range device (maybe Lumia 830, Lumia 730 or some other unknown device) so we should wait a bit longer for the high-end McLaren that we eagerly anticipate.
