First firmware update for the Elite x3 improves phone’s performance
HP rolls out a firmware update to the Elite x3
X3 has received its first firmware update after the official release. HP has rolled out firmware version 1.000.60243 to the smartphone to fix the most urgent performance issues experienced with the first units delivered to the press and customers. This update improves the overall performance of the device and brings a better management of the Live Tiles, according to the change log.
The company is expected to release another firmware update very soon. Unlike the previous one, the upcoming update won’t bring just fixes, but also many new features like Double tap to Wake, HP Calculator and more.
Meanwhile, the phone is slowly making its way to the market. Customers in some EU countries can already order the x3, while the US launch is set for next week. The company has also promised an official Windows 10 Anniversary Update in mid-September.
