It’s raining updates

Microsoft has announced new firmware updates for the Lumia 950, 950 XL, 830 and LG Lancet in select markets.

To get the new firmware update [1078.38.16025] for the Microsoft Lumia 950 and 950 XL Insiders need to switch to the Production ring and scan for updates. Microsoft will be offering firmware updates to Insider rings (Fast, Slow or Preview Release) from early March, but until then the Windows Insiders need to put their phones onto the Production track to receive firmware updates.

Lumia 950 and 950 XL get improvements in call audio quality and GPS, and some stability fixes with this firmware revision. Here’s a list with all device variants that have new firmware updates. The AT&T variant of the Lumia 950 is still not in the list. To view your device variant go to Settings → Extras → Advanced Info.

Nokia Lumia 830 for AT&T and LG Lancet for Verizon are also receiving new firmware updates, but only if the phones are running Windows Phone 8.1, due to device targeting restrictions. If you are running an Insider Preview build of Windows 10 you will need to downgrade to 8.1 using the Windows Device Recovery Tool to update the firmware for Lumia 830 and LG Lancet.

Hopefully, from March, all firmware updates will also be available to Windows Insiders without additional manipulations.
