Firmware update available for the Lumia 550
Microsoft rolls an OTA firmware update to the Lumia 550
A new firmware has been released for the Microsoft Lumia 550. It appears on the phone as MICROSOFTMDG but there is no official changelog with the improvements it probably brings. However, unlike the firmware for the Lumia 650, 950 and 950 XL, this update doesn’t enable the Double Tap to Wake functionality due to hardware limitation.
The firmware update is available over-the-air. You can check if it is available for your device by going to Settings → Phone Update. Keep in mind that you may wait a couple of days before the update reach all country variants.
