Facebook’s official app for Windows 10 Mobile released as a Beta
Facebook has launched an official app for Windows 10 Mobile
After Messenger and Instagram, the official Facebook app is now available in the Store as a Beta for Windows 10 Mobile. If you are unable to download the app on your Windows 10 Phone from the link below, changing the region to Germany will help you install it. The other option is to open the Store Library and install the app from the list (providing that you’ve previously installed Facebook Beta on a PC)
Keep in mind that Facebook for Windows 10 is not a UWP app, although it works on PC and Mobile. To bring its apps to Windows 10, Facebook has used its own software tools and existing iOS code. That’s why the new Instagram, Messenger and Facebook apps are almost identical to its iOS counterparts in terms of features and they definitely look good too.
However, the new Facebook app doesn’t integrate with Windows 10 like a real UWP app. For example, Facebook doesn’t support rich notifications and there is no integration with the People Hub. The mobile app also lacks the Facebook Live feature, already available for Windows 10 PCs.
