Windows Device Recovery tool won’t be updated with Windows 10 images

Microsoft started rolling out the official Windows 10 update to eligible smartphones in March, but the company didn’t update the recovery images available on the servers. Now we understand that there is no plan for that in the future.

Users who have upgraded their phones to Windows 10 Mobile will be able to indefinitely downgrade them to the original software if they wish.

The Windows Device Recovery Tool is a PC program that allows users to install the original factory ROM on their device. The decision for not updating the images available on the servers is good for users who want to have a choice of operating systems for their phones.
