Turn off ads in Windows Spotlight‘s lock screen

Rotating images on the Lock screen in Windows 10 are possible thanks to the Windows Spotlight feature. Once you set Windows Spotlight as a source for wallpapers, you will have a new lockscreen every day. However, this comes with a price. You will often see ads, tips, facts and other things from Cortana and the Store.

Fortunately, there is a way to opt-out these suggestions from the Settings menu. To disable ads, facts and tips on the lockscreen follow these steps:

1. Go to Settings → Personalization → Lock Screen

2. Turn off ‘Get fun facts, tips and more from Windows and Cortana‘

You can also use an alternative source for lock screen wallpapers. There are many third party apps that automatically change the start screen / lock screen background for you. One of the best apps is Dynamic Theme. Read more about Dynamic Theme here.
