Possible issues with Verizon’s own apps
Bad news for all owners of Lumia 822, 928 and Icon smartphones on Verizon Wireless. The status of Lumia Cyan update has been changed from Under Testing to Under Development which means the latest OS version will not reach the devices anytime soon.
It seems that the main issue is with Verizon’s own apps (Navigator, My Voicemail, Verizon and others) as they are not working perfectly with Cyan firmware. So, Verizon has sent the update back to Microsoft for changes before the testing process can continue.
While Lumia Cyan is already running on most of the active smartphones around the globe and users are waiting for the Lumia Denim firmware, Verizon customers are stuck on a much older OS version and should once again wait for Microsoft/ Verizon to rebuild and test the Cyan update.
Joe Belfiore says:
“MS/Verizon are working on some bug fixes– VZW taking the quality seriously. We aren’t sure how long it will take, but work is underway.”
There is no info on when Verizon will unleash the Lumia Cyan update but it won’t be a big surprise of that happens in early 2015, and even after the official Denim build gets released.
