Cortana now syncs notifications between Android and Windows 10 PC
Cross-platform notifications coming with the Anniversary update
Microsoft is actively working on Action Center improvements for Windows 10 Anniversary Update scheduled for this summer. These new Action Center features will be coming not only to Windows Phones, tablets and PCs, but also to Android phones thanks to Cortana.
The new Action Center that syncs notifications between devices have already been enabled for those users who are in the Windows Insider and Cortana for Android test programs. A Reddit user has found that his Android phone can sync notifications with a PC linked to the same account and running the latest Insider Preview build of Windows 10.
Cortana for Android is still a Beta app available only in the US, but it can be downloaded from apkmirror.com.
So, with the Anniversary update for Windows 10, Android and Windows 10 Mobile users will be able to mirror and dismiss notifications on their PC, or vice-versa. The feature is yet to be enabled on Windows 10 Mobile, but Cortana in the last Redstone build already has a ‘Notification Syncing’ section in Settings. Currently, Cortana informs PC users only about missed phone calls and low battery.
