New features coming to Windows 10 and Cortana

Microsoft is about to improve the synchronization between devices with different form factors with the upcoming Creators Update. Thanks to Cortana and the new features planned for Windows 10, you will be able to unlock your PC using the phone (Windows or Android).

The second new option for Cortana in 2017 is called ‘Universal Clipboard’. It would allow you to sync clipboard content across PC and phone. Turning on the feature from the Settings menu would allow you to control two features – to select a device to sync content with, and to display a preview of the clipboard. By enabling both features, you will receive a notification when the copied content is ready to use on the device, and a preview of the clipboard.

The third improvement planned for the Creators Update is a better Notification sync. From 2017, the sync will become two-directional, which means PC → Phone, and Phone → PC.

All new features should be rolled out to the Insider program in January, before the public debut later in 2017.
