Cortana is getting smarter with suggested reminders
Cortana to suggest reminders based on emails
Microsoft is announcing a new feature for Cortana on Windows 10, iOS and Android. Starting this week with Windows users in the U.S., and later expanding to iOS and Android, Cortana will suggest reminders for email tasks. Powered by machine learning technology on the cloud, Cortana will be able to automatically scan emails for important tasks, scheduled meetings and other things to remind you.
Cortana will automatically save the information and then inform you about the task in a pop-up and Action center, allowing you to snooze or complete the task.
To be able to use the feature, make sure you’ve granted permissions to emails and communications in Cortana → Notebook → ‘Connected services’. Navigate to the menu and then connect your outlook.com account.
Also make sure that ‘Permissions’ and ‘Suggested reminders’ in Cortana’s notebook are enabled.
