Control a PC remotely with Windows Phone 8.1
Microsoft Remote Desktop is a new universal app that is able to run on both Windows Phone 8.1 and Windows 8.1 for desktop computers. The app gives you a quick access to a PC on the go, so you can scroll around the desktop machine remotely.
The app doesn’t give you a full control over the PC, but it can help a lot for those people who need to access their machines on the go. Remote Desktop Preview includes built-in on screen keyboard, supporting all Windows buttons such as ctrl, alt, shift, Windows key, ect.
This is a Preview version, so only users who have joined Windows Phone 8.1 Preview for Developers program will be able to install Microsoft Remote Desktop app. The app has similar functionality to the apps available for iOS and Android. Traditional RDP protocol is used, so you can connect any PC that supports Remote Desktop (found in Control Panel menu).
Remote Desktop is among the first “universal” apps supporting both Windows 8.1 and Windows Phone. More new combined apps should be released in the coming months.
