The built-in FM radio to be removed from Windows 10 Mobile
Third-party apps will continue to work
Today, most of the smartphone customers rely on online music streaming / radio apps like Spotify and TuneIn to listen to music on the go. But there are some people who prefer to listen to traditional FM radio stations on their smartphones. Windows Phone 8.1 had a built-in FM radio app which made its way to Windows 10 Mobile, but now Microsoft has decided to remove the FM radio from the development branch.
Windows 10 Mobile Insider Preview 14332 had no built-in FM radio, and Microsoft confirmed that the app has been cut. Microsoft has not stated why the built-in app will be removed, but the Windows Phone users will still be able to access FM radios after June (Redstone 1 update) via third-party apps from the Windows Store.
