February 2018 update for Windows 10 Mobile fixes the fingerprint issue

Alcatel IDOL 4 Pro users in Europe have been complaining about a fingerprint recognition issue since phone’s launch. Fortunately, the February 2018 update for Windows 10 has finally fixed the code for Windows Hello, according to AAWP.

The issue was that the reader on the Idol 4 Pro failed to recognize your finger if it’s even slightly misaligned. Remember that after three unsuccessful attempts, you should manually enter your PIN to log in.

AAWP reports that the fingerprint sensing on the Acatel IDOL 4 Pro has been dramatically improved as the phone now detects and authenticates every single time. We assume the same applies for the US version of the phone – IDOL 4S.

The February 2018 update for Windows 10 Mobile was released last week with build 15254.248. Along with the fixes and improvements it brought, it somehow broke the ability to open PDFs with the Microsoft Edge. You have to install a PDF reader app from the Store until Microsoft re-introduces the feature in March.
