BLU Products teases a Windows Phone prototype
Based in Miami Florida, BLU Products is a popular smartphone manufacturer focused on emerging markets in Latin America, Caribbean and in the USA. The company is well-known with its affordable Android-based models, with prices below $200.
It appears that BLU Products is working on its first Windows Phone device, as a teaser showing an unannounced prototype was posted on company’s Facebook page. The phone looks similar to Dash 5.0, a 5-inch Android model with an 854 x 480 pixel resolution, dual-core processor at 1.3 GHz, 512 MB of RAM, Dual SIM, 5 MP rear-facing camera and a 2000 mAh battery. And if these specs are not something impressive, the price of the phone definitely is – Dash 5.0 sells for just $130 on Amazon.
Windows Phone is now free for all manufacturers, while the initially very stringent hardware requirements have been loosened, so we should see many new OEMs to join the Windows Phone camp and start experimenting with the platform. BLU Products is one of the popular phone manufacturers in Latin America, with more than 10 million smartphones shipments to date. This upcoming Windows Phone device could give the platform additional boost in some markets. Are you interested?
