AT&T’s Lumia 830 to come with Qi wireless charging plate in the box
The phone launches in the US on November 7th
Nokia Lumia 830 is coming to the US market in early November with built in support for wireless charging. The Qi standard is build into the replaceable back covers so using a Qi accessory customers can charge their phones without a cable.
Sources close to AT&T has confirmed to WPCentral that the US carrier is planning to include a free Qi charging plate in the box with every Lumia 830 purchased. The phone also supports PMA standard so accessory cases can also be used. AT&T’s version of the Lumia 1520 is the only model in the world without Qi standard but with PMA instead, so users needed a special shell to enable the wireless charging.
With the 830 it seems that AT&T won’t be so aggressive with PMA ,and Qi will be supported, while customers will get a free charging accessory in the box.
