ASUS announces the ZenBook 3 and Transformer 3 series
ASUS challenges McBook and Surface Pro
ASUS announced at Computex 2016 a couple of high-end ultrabooks and 2-in-1s. ASUS ZenBook 3 is the latest addition of the ultraportable line-up. The notebook is thinner, lighter and more powerful than the Apple’s MacBook. The most powerful version has a 12.5-inch Full HD screen, Intel Core i7 CPU, 16 GB of RAM, Thunderbolt 3 connector, USB Type-C, fingerprint sensor & Windows Hello and 1TB SSD.
The price of this version is $1,999, but ASUS will also offer an entry-level model for $999 that has an i5 processor, 4 GB of RAM, 256 GB of SSD. ASUS will sell the ZenBook 3 in three colors – grey, gold and blue.
ASUS also announced new Transformer 2-in-1s. ASUS Transformer 3 and 3 Pro both include 12.6-inch screens with a resolution of 2880 x 1920 pixels. Both models come with keyboards and integrated kickstands, and different hardware configurations.
ASUS Transformer 3 starts from $799. It can be configured with a processor up to Core i7, 256 or 512 GB SSD storage, up to 8 GB of RAM.
ASUS Transformer 3 Pro features an Intel Core i7 CPU, up to 16 GB of RAM, up to 1 TB SSD, and two 13MP cameras. The price of the entry-level model is $999.
