Anti-theft features coming to Windows Phone
There are many interesting solutions for avoiding smartphone theft. Apple introduced a feature in 2013 for preventing thieves from using the iPhone after stealing. The smartphone can be locked or/and wiped in order to protect your personal information. Other companies come up with a more radical solution called “kill switch” which makes the handset completely unresponsive.
Now we learn that Microsoft is working on its own anti-theft feature that will launch with Windows Phone 8.1 ahead of the scheduled launch in July 2015, according to CTIA agreement which has been signed by many companies including Microsoft. The feature will be found under ‘Find My Phone’ in your Microsoft’s account, where you can control, find and wipe a Windows Phone device in case it’s stolen.
This solution will go live with Windows Phone 8.1’s official launch scheduled for July 2014.
