After Lenovo and Apple, Dell will also offer a Surface-like convertible
XPS 12 with a 4k infinity display reportedly comes in October
Leaked marketing slides, published by Giga.de, reveal Dell’s plans to release a Surface-like 2-in-1 device at the end of 2015. According to these materials, Dell XPS 12 will feature an infinity touchscreen display with a resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels (Ultra HD, 4k).
The design of the 12-inch convertible will be similar to the Microsoft Surface, with a detachable keyboard and tablet.
Recently, Lenovo and Apple also announced their variants of a 2-in-1 tablet/laptop, while Microsoft is expected to launch a successor to the Surface Pro 3 in October.
XPS 12 will use a magnetic connection between the backlit illuminated keyboard and the tablet. The device will run Windows 10, 64-bit operating system, and will support stylus. Other rumored specs include two cameras (5MP front, 8MP back), USB Thunderbolt 3, and around 10 hours of battery life.
There is no information on pricing, processor type and amount of RAM. According to the slides, Dell may be launching the XPS 12 in October.
