The low-end Windows Phone now available in Canada and Russia

Acer has released its new low-end Windows Phone in Canada and Russia. Acer Liquid M220 is now available via Microsoft Store Canada for the price of $99, SIM and contract-free. The price is Russia is $89 in online retail stores.

The Liquid M220 has been marketed as a cheap Lumia alternative. The phone comes with a 4-inch display with an 800 x 480 pixel resolution. The processor powering the phone is the dual-core Snapdragon 200, running at 1.2 Ghz and backed by 512 MB of RAM.

M220 also has 4GB onboard storage, microSD slot, 5MP rear camera with LED flash, 2MP front shooter, and a 1300 mAh battery under the back cover. The device is running Windows Phone 8.1, but the company promised that Windows 10 will be rolled out at the end of this year.
